How much do ball joints cost to put on a Ford Explorer '99. It also needs a control arm. Thanks!?

Upper ball joints are serviced with the control arm, the lowers press in and out and the control arms are re-used.

Cost is highly variable depending on the quality of part you go with and local labor rates which can vary widely from one city or town to the next (like $40/hr or more different).

For all 4 plan on $750 to $1,000 depending on the variables.How much do ball joints cost to put on a Ford Explorer '99. It also needs a control arm. Thanks!?
SPICER Part # 5051221B {Red Label-Service Grade}

Front Suspension; Lower $11 each for Lower you will need two

Front Suspension; Right Upper; Complete Arm With Ball Joint is $45

SPICER Part # 5021022B {Red Label-Service Grade}

SPICER Part # 5021021B {Red Label-Service Grade}

Front Suspension; Left Upper; Complete Arm With Ball Joint is $38

The above items are for service grade (mainstream quality) if you want better quality you have to double the cost and go for Professional quality, which I would recommend, because if you have to replace these already you need higher quality based on your vehicle use. It sounds like you may have run into something.

Normally the labor for installing this pretty high so you might as well pay the extra for the better parts and so you don't have to do it again. always get name brand suspension parts, my experience with cheap parts off ebay is that you really get what you pay for. Some ball joints from China will last 20,000 miles and you have to do it all over again.

Make sure you get a wheel alignment once you have the suspension parts installed or you will burn off your tires and have limited braking.How much do ball joints cost to put on a Ford Explorer '99. It also needs a control arm. Thanks!?
Most places will charge around $800-$1100. To do both upper and lower on both sides. They have to push out the lower ball joints and the uppers are attacthed to the control arm all as one piece. That's what was quoted from a regular mechanic and the higher is quoted from ford.
