Is it ever free when your income is very little? or 0
I'm 20 and was recently taken off my parents insurance due to late paperwork (crock of ****, if you ask me) Luckily i had a pelvic exam just before i was cut off.
anyway... I'm a full-time student, without a job.
Does anyone know how much it usually cost without insurance?Do i have to have a pelvic exam to get birth control at planned parenthood? and how much does it usually cost?
Get the pelvic exam. I was only with my first boyfriend when I went in to get my pills- and thought I was fine, just needed birth control. They thought it best to give me the basic tests. Good thing- found out I contracted HPV and was able to get treatment before it turned into anything malignant- like cervical cancer.
You said you just had an exam, so you should be fine- but if it's been 6 months, I'd get the full exam too.
PS- I paid on a sliding scale of my pay.Do i have to have a pelvic exam to get birth control at planned parenthood? and how much does it usually cost?
No pelvic exam needed. But you need to tell them that you don't want one or else they will schedule you for one with your appointment (they did this to me and I had to get another pelvic exam). I think when I went it was $7 per pack (with a discount). Call them and they will give you all the details, and there is certain paperwork that you have to bring with you to get a discount.
You can get it without a pelvic exam, especially at an ';express'; Planned parenthood. My friend recently went there to get her BC for a similar reason and she was told the office visit would be 50$ish and the 3 month BC pill script would be $43~.
They will ask you to give a donation and fill out paper work, it will be free though.
