How much does birth control cost at Planned Parenthood for a jobless teen?

Hello, my name is Raydon. My mother would not accept me having sex and I cannot confide in her or tell her the truth. She said that if I have sex/get pregnant before I am 18 (while I'm still living with her) that I will be grounded until I am 18. I want to be safe and use condoms and birth control, but I obviously have to do this alone.

I live in central Illinois.

If I go to planned parenthood, how much money will it cost me (no income, no parent with me,) to get the exam and birth control? How much does birth control cost at Planned Parenthood for a jobless teen?
First, good for you for being responsible with your reproductive health!

Planned Parenthood usually has free condoms, and they'll just give you a big ol' bag of them!

There is probably a program in place, either through the state (don't worry, they can't tell your mom), or through PP, to give you free birth control in addition to condoms.

Planned Parenthood is very much vested in your reproductive health, and in finding a way to help you get good care, including birth control. Just call them, and ask them to help walk you through getting it for free or nearly free.

You should not, however, have to shoulder the burden of acquiring birth control all on your own. Your boyfriend should want to help you. A good boyfriend wants to be a participant here.

Please use condoms in addition to whatever other birth control you use. Condoms (male or female condoms) are the ONLY way to protect yourself from std's. You can even get one (bacterial vaginosis) even if your partner hasn't had sex with someone else. Please, please, consider ';doubling up'; with the pill/patch/cervical cap/sponge/whatever AND condoms. Planned Parenthood usually has multiple kinds of condoms available. I have an allergy to spermicide, and I always have been able to get lubricated w/o spermicide there. Many years ago, I had a partner who was, um, quite sizeable... PP gave me XL condoms! A year later, I had a partner who was, um, less sizeable than average. PP even found me some swedish-made condoms that were snugger than most, and took them out of the box, so my partner didn't know I'd gotten a ';special size';. They also have latex-free and female condoms. Seriously, they have whatever you need, and THEY'RE THRILLED TO PROVIDE THEM!

Again, it is a wonderful thing that you're taking charge of your health like this. That is a very mature and responsible choice. You are to be congratulated, even if your mom doesn't think so. (By the way, I think this, even though I don't believe in premarital sex - I just ';don't believe in'; unsafe premarital sex MORE!)

One last note. Your doctor (gynecologist or regular doctor) can NOT legally tell your mother that you've asked for birth control, if you tell her/him not to. So you can make an appointment, saying you have a yeast infection, so you can kick your mom out of the room for the vaginal exam! Then tell the doc what you want. How much does birth control cost at Planned Parenthood for a jobless teen?
it will not cost you a thing go to the health dept for the planned parenting program its based off your income and since you have none its none and they will give you a years worth of the pill and condoms and stuff as well
It very well could be free, or a very cheap price like $15. When I used birth control from a clinic they would take a ';donation';, so one time I received 3 months worth of birth control for $15.
Nada. More than likely.
its free
free, or very little like no more then $10-$15
