New restaurant! how to control food cost?

I m about to open a restaurant, I never had one before, and every one tell me about cost and profit, can you help me with all this formula + - % etc, please I like to do a nice job and cost are very important, can any one tell me how to start and run, how to separate food and beverage, how much it will be my profit, etc, well, I need as much information as possible! I hope you are not counting on Yahoo! to be your source. Go to your local library or bookstore and get a copy of ';Running a Restaurant for Dummies';. Then look into industry publications like ';Restaurant Startup and Growth'; magazine. restaurantowner.com is another source.





Depending on the type of restaurant you plan to run will dictate what percentage your food costs should be to be profitable. Rent and payroll will be your other big expenses.





You also need a good accountant who knows the restaurant business.
